Annette's Cranberry Jello Salad

Annette Beard brought us this salad along with her delicious baked chicken with pimentos, wild rice, french cut green beans, and french fried onions one night shortly after the birth of Becky or Peter (I can't remember which one since their homebirths were so very similar in time of day and timing!). It was good enough to remember and it has replaced my mom's cranberry/orange jello as our holiday favorite.

1 large package raspberry or cranberry jello
2 c boiling water
1 c cold water

Chill till soft set.

Stir in, in order:
2 cans Ocean Spray Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce (okay to be clumpy, NOT okay for jello to be warm or hot; should really be soft set)
1/2 c or more pecans
1 large can crushed pineapple with juice
1-2 cans mandarin oranges, drained (stir these in gently so they don't break)

Chill till firm set.
